Most events are free, just put your money in the hat, which is how Hat Fair got its name.
Hatters will be all over the city, carrying out feats of daring do with their hat outstretched. The best of street theatre will pop up round every corner, and Hidden Hat Fair will take new performances to spaces that have never seen theatre before. Our beautiful city will be alive with music and fun, there will be market stalls selling everything from etched brass to ponchos and of course lots of hats!
From the launch procession and Mad Hatter’s tea party involving kids from local schools to the Small Wonders Park at the Winchester Discovery Centre and a tea-tent in Abbey garden for older ones, Hat Fair will be making a special welcome for the young this year. And for the whole family join us for the usual Sunday party at Oram’s Arbour.
